Camerino, October 16, 2025 – After years of restoration and reconstruction, the Archbishop’s Palace of Camerino and the Diocesan Museum “Monsignor Giacomo Boccanera” have officially reopened, symbolizing the cultural and spiritual rebirth of the city and its community.
Since 2021, ENGLOBE has been responsible for the preliminary, detailed, and executive design, as well as the health and safety coordination during design, for the entire palace. This long and meticulous process has brought new life to one of the region’s most important architectural landmarks.
As stated by the President of the Marche Region, Francesco Acquaroli: “Reopening the Archbishop’s Palace and the Diocesan Museum represents a fundamental step for Camerino, for our region, and for the entire earthquake crater. Returning this place to the community means restoring a vital part of daily life and of the city’s identity.”
Built in the 16th century by Bishop Berardo Bongiovanni, the palace stands beside the cathedral and preserves layers of historical and architectural heritage. The project involved seismic strengthening, spatial reorganization, and restoration of the medieval underground areas, enhancing the original structure’s integrity and beauty.
Directed by Dr. Barbara Mastrocola, the Giacomo Boccanera Diocesan Museum displays works by Luca Signorelli, Giovan Battista Gaulli, Giovanni Boccati, Carlo Crivelli, and Giovanni Battista Tiepolo, reflecting the rich spiritual and artistic legacy of Camerino’s diocese.
The reopening event, “After the Silence, Rebirth”, gathered President Acquaroli, Archbishop Francesco Massara, Reconstruction Commissioner Guido Castelli, Mayor Roberto Lucarelli, and numerous authorities and citizens.
For ENGLOBE, participating in the inauguration marked the conclusion of a journey that began in 2021 — a journey of silent rebirth, technical precision, and cultural commitment to restoring one of Camerino’s most treasured symbols.
