The site perfectly illustrates how politics, architecture, and religion were intertwined in late antiquity.<br data-start=\"1079\" data-end=\"1082\" \/>Over the centuries, the villa experienced transformations, abandonment, and decay, making a careful and respectful <strong data-start=\"1197\" data-end=\"1225\">restoration intervention<\/strong> essential.<\/p>\n<h2 data-start=\"1240\" data-end=\"1299\">The conservative restoration of the Villa of Maxentius<\/h2>\n<p><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1300\" data-end=\"1469\">The <strong data-start=\"1304\" data-end=\"1359\">archaeological and conservative restoration project<\/strong> aimed to preserve and enhance one of Rome\u2019s most significant cultural landmarks.
