data-end=\"361\">structural and architectural design<\/strong> of a new <strong data-start=\"371\" data-end=\"395\">steel-and-glass roof<\/strong> for a representative area of the <strong data-start=\"429\" data-end=\"469\">Central Bank of Armenia headquarters<\/strong> in Yerevan, one of the country\u2019s most symbolic institutional buildings.<\/p><p data-start=\"543\" data-end=\"904\">The intervention aimed to create a high-quality covered space\u2014elegant, functional, and capable of enhancing the existing architecture\u2014while providing new representative areas, meeting spaces, and protected circulation routes.<br data-start=\"768\" data-end=\"771\" \/>The canopy was conceived as a <strong data-start=\"801\" data-end=\"845\">light, transparent architectural element<\/strong>, respectful of the monumentality of the original building.<\/p><h2 data-start=\"911\" data-end=\"995\">A transparent architectural element integrated into an institutional landmark<\/h2><p data-start=\"997\" data-end=\"1026\">The new roof was designed to:<\/p><ul data-start=\"1028\" data-end=\"1375\"><li data-start=\"1028\" data-end=\"1088\"><p data-start=\"1030\" data-end=\"1088\">introduce a contemporary, refined architectural feature,<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1089\" data-end=\"1158\"><p data-start=\"1091\" data-end=\"1158\">protect internal spaces while ensuring <strong data-start=\"1130\" data-end=\"1155\">maximum natural light<\/strong>,<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1159\" data-end=\"1247\"><p data-start=\"1161\" data-end=\"1247\">maintain full visual coherence with the institutional character of the Central Bank,<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1248\" data-end=\"1375\"><p data-start=\"1250\" data-end=\"1375\">guarantee thermal and environmental comfort in Yerevan\u2019s continental climate, characterized by strong temperature variations.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"1377\" data-end=\"1550\">The steel-and-glass system creates a recognisable yet discreet presence, allowing the historic building to remain visually dominant while enriching its functional potential.<\/p><h2 data-start=\"1557\" data-end=\"1590\">Advanced structural design<\/h2><p data-start=\"1592\" data-end=\"1659\">ENGLOBE developed the full structural model of the roof, including:<\/p><ul data-start=\"1661\" data-end=\"1953\"><li data-start=\"1661\" data-end=\"1722\"><p data-start=\"1663\" data-end=\"1722\">sizing and geometry of the <strong data-start=\"1690\" data-end=\"1719\">steel profiles and joints<\/strong>,<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1723\" data-end=\"1782\"><p data-start=\"1725\" data-end=\"1782\">verification of <strong data-start=\"1741\" data-end=\"1779\">glass panels and anchoring systems<\/strong>,<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1783\" data-end=\"1867\"><p data-start=\"1785\" data-end=\"1867\">analysis of <strong data-start=\"1797\" data-end=\"1820\">snow and wind loads<\/strong>, essential in Yerevan\u2019s climatic conditions,<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"1868\" data-end=\"1953\"><p data-start=\"1870\" data-end=\"1953\">integration of drainage and water management solutions within the canopy structure.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"1955\" data-end=\"2051\">The geometry features inclined and curved surfaces to optimize daylight distribution, requiring:<\/p><ul data-start=\"2053\" data-end=\"2229\"><li data-start=\"2053\" data-end=\"2081\"><p data-start=\"2055\" data-end=\"2081\">complex joint detailing,<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"2082\" data-end=\"2142\"><p data-start=\"2084\" data-end=\"2142\">FEM analyses to test behavior under environmental loads,<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"2143\" data-end=\"2229\"><p data-start=\"2145\" data-end=\"2229\">dedicated seismic checks \u2014 crucial in <strong data-start=\"2183\" data-end=\"2228\">a high-seismicity country such as Armenia<\/strong>.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><h2 data-start=\"2236\" data-end=\"2286\">Light, comfort, and engineering performance<\/h2><p data-start=\"2288\" data-end=\"2362\">A key aspect of the project was the <strong data-start=\"2324\" data-end=\"2350\">study of natural light<\/strong>, including:<\/p><ul data-start=\"2364\" data-end=\"2545\"><li data-start=\"2364\" data-end=\"2402\"><p data-start=\"2366\" data-end=\"2402\">control of direct solar radiation,<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"2403\" data-end=\"2427\"><p data-start=\"2405\" data-end=\"2427\">mitigation of glare,<\/p><\/li><li data-start=\"2428\" data-end=\"2465\"><p data-start=\"2430\" energy-efficient coatings.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><p data-start=\"2547\" data-end=\"2730\">The result is a roof capable of improving both the visual comfort and the environmental performance of the enclosed areas, reducing reliance on artificial lighting throughout the day.<\/p><h2 data-start=\"2737\" data-end=\"2786\">Integration with the existing headquarters<\/h2><p data-start=\"2788\" data-end=\"2867\">The design required careful coordination with the existing building, including:<\/p><ul data-start=\"2869\" data-end=\"3132\"><li data-start=\"2869\" data-end=\"2950\"><p dignity of the Central Bank building.<\/p><h2 data-start=\"3288\" data-end=\"3341\">A new representative space for the institution<\/h2><p data-start=\"3343\" data-end=\"3383\">The roof provides the Central Bank with:<\/p><ul data-start=\"3385\" data-end=\"3618\"><li data-start=\"3385\" data-end=\"3433\"><p data-start=\"3387\" data-end=\"3433\">expanded reception and representative
